The Mental Side of Endurance

Races are strategic. You train, you test, you implement. Yet, what truly influences whether you finish, return, or continue occurs internally.
This section highlights that unseen effort: overcoming injuries, rebuilding after setbacks, confronting doubt, and maintaining motivation when no one is watching. If race reviews are the strategic map, then this is the mental landscape. I have succeeded, faltered on the course, been injured, and recovered. It's all part of the process, but the key is to work through it over the course of a season. Endurance running is unique in that you have plenty of time to reflect on these things; these essays are just that... a distillation of my thoughts to support my racing.
